Sports Legends & The Charm'tastic Mile 1.3

The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore the new name for the 1.3 mile corridor that runs from MLK Jr. Blvd. & Pratt Street to Harbor East has a unique association with some of the most iconic sports stars of all-time. Their association is linked to the magical 1.3.

Babe Ruth - The Babe Ruth http://baberuthmuseum.org/ birthplace museum is located one half block from The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore. The Babe is the #1 icon of baseball and he wore the No. 3 jersey as a member of the New York Yankees. The Babe's 1.3 link to The Charm'tastic Mile.

Muhammad Ali- The "Greatest" of All-Time is the #1 icon of boxing. He was the first heavyweight to win the title a record 3 times. His likeness and apparel are sponsored by Under Armour. Brooks & Cal - Brooks Robinson & Cal Ripken are arguably the 2 greatest players to ever play for the Baltimore Orioles. These 2 icons personified the "Oriole Way" of the 1960's , 70's & 80's. Both spent their entire careers with the O's winning World Titles and MVP's. Brooks wore the Number 5 jersey and Cal the Number 8. Combine 5 +8=13. Frank & Eddie - Frank Robinson & Eddie Murray are legends to the Orioles. These 2 slugging stars personify the "Oriole Way". Frank won the "Triple Crown" and is the only player to win MVP in the American and National leagues. Eddie Murray is one of a select few that retired with more than 500 home runs and 3000 hits. Trent & Joe Cool - Trent Dilfer & Joe Flacco have a special place in Ravens history. Trent was the starting quarterback for the Super Bowl XXXV win over the NY Giants. Joe Flacco has been the Ravens franchise quarterback for almost a decade and won Super Bowl XVLll. He was also named game MVP. Trent wore the Number 8 jersey and Joe wears the Number 5. Catherine Pugh & Wilt Chamberlain - Mayor of Baltimore to be Catherine Pugh was born in Philadelphia and went to Overbrook High School. Wilt Chamberlain one of the NBA's all-time greats attended the same Overbrook High.
