The (1.3) of Cal Ripken Way & The Charm'tastic Mile

Cal Ripken Jr. the iconic star of the Baltimore Orioles who played from 1981-2001 was the face of the franchise for more than 20 years. Ripken was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2007.

On May 30, 2008 Interstate 395 (I-395) was officially dedicated to Ripken and renamed Cal Ripken Way. The highway runs 1.33 miles from I-95 North to Howard Street.

I-95 North to Howard Street is a major road to the Camden Yards Sports Complex that is home to Oriole Park at Camden Yards (Orioles) and M&T Bank Stadium (Ravens).

The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore was officially introduced to the city on April 25, 2017. The Charm'tastic Mile runs from MLK Jr. Blvd. &Pratt Street to Harbor East. "The Mile" is 1.3 miles in length.  The two are almost the same in length and serve as major traffic corridors to the heart of downtown and the Inner Harbor.

The Charm'tastic Mile inspired by The Magnificent Mile (Chicago) also shares the same introduction date to Baltimore as the famous "Domino Sugars" neon sign (April 25, 1951). The Charm'tastic Mile is seeking to become one of the "Top 20" avenues, boulevards or streets in America.
