Mayor Catherine Pugh, Wilt Chamberlain & The Charm'tastic Mile

Mayor-elect Catherine Pugh will be the 50th Mayor for the City of Baltimore. She is from the Philadelphia area and went to Overbrook High School. Catherine came to Baltimore and went to Morgan State University graduating in 1977.

Wilt "The Big Dipper" Chamberlain the NBA legend like Mayor Pugh is from Philadelphia. Chamberlain is considered one of the best players to ever play in the NBA. He also attended the same Overbrook High School.

The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore the new name for the 1.3 mile corridor that runs from MLK Jr. Blvd. & Pratt Street to Harbor East was introduced to the city on April 25, 2016. Wilt Chamberlain wore the #13 as a member of the Philadelphia/San Francisco Warriors  and Philadelphia 76ers. He finished his NBA career with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1973.

Derrick E. Vaughan the Baltimore businessman that coined The Charm'tastic Mile of Baltimore on Tuesday November 8, 2016 the night of the Baltimore Mayoral election Vaughan met Bill Russell the iconic basketball legend of the Boston Celtics. Russell won 11 NBA Championships in 13 years as a member of the Boston Celtics. Chamberlain vs Russell was the marquee player vs player match-up for the league during the 1960's. Vaughan told Russell that Ali was his idol and that he too Russell was also the greatest.

On election night in Baltimore Catherine Pugh, Wilt Chamberlain & The Charm'tastic Mile came together by connection of Baltimore/Philadelphia and the number 13 or 1.3.
